Jack Hirsch is a California-based filmmaker, editor, and director. A recent graduate from UC Berkeley with a BA in Film and Media, Jack was a hands-on contributor to Berkeley student filmmaking through Cinematic Arts and Production (CAP) Studios. He gained experience in every aspect of the filmmaking process, honing his skills and passion for editing and directing. A natural storyteller, Jack uncovers the emotional core in narrative comedies, dramas, and commercial projects. His latest short film, High E, follows two goofy characters as they stumble into the temptations of capital greed and success that oppose their own creative expression and contented lifestyle. His senior film, See You Soon, uses an experimental approach in visual storytelling to convey frustration with the impossibility of fulfilling societal expectation. During his work experience as Video Producer and Editor for the Fung Institute at UC Berkeley, Jack shaped compelling stories from interviews with graduate students and industry professionals, drawing prospective students to the program and maintaining the institute's themes of leadership and innovation in every edit.
